Older men learning in the community: European snapshots
This May 2014 book (6 Chapers, 115 pages), ably edited by Marco Radovan and Sabina Jelenc Krasovec (from Slovenia) is available via https://knjigarna.ff.uni-lj.si/ It costs 8.90 Euro.
Published in Ljubljana in Slovenia, it brings together new and diverse research perspectives about older men’s learning through the community drawn from researchers in Malta, Portugal, Estonia and Slovenia. It neatly complements the findings in Men learning through life with insights from 14 European researchers.
Aside from the editors based in Slovenia, its main contributors include Antonio Fragoso, who also contributed a Portuguese chapter to our own book, and Martin Formosa, based in Malta, who has previously published work in the field of older learning with Brian Findsen, another chapter contributor to Men learning through life.
As I have said in the book’s Preface, I strongly encourage other international researchers ‘… to provide the critically important refutation, qualification, or validation’ of what many older men [are] reporting’ (Radovan & Krasovek, p. 5) in our Australian research.
